# Grafana IRM SMS privacy notice and terms

This page describes how Grafana Labs handles your mobile phone number for Grafana IRM SMS notifications, and the terms that apply when you opt in to receive them.

## SMS privacy notice

Grafana Labs provides SMS notifications as part of its Incident Response Management (IRM) services, including phone-number verification, incident alerts, on-call notifications, and related service communications.

### Information we collect and use

When you register a mobile phone number for Grafana IRM, we collect and process your phone number and related verification, notification preference, and messaging information to provide the SMS services you request.

### Mobile information and SMS consent

Grafana Labs does not sell, rent, or share Customer Data consisting of IRM mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may disclose this information to service providers, including messaging and telecommunications providers, as necessary to deliver and support SMS services, subject to applicable contractual protections. SMS opt-in consent is not shared with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

## SMS terms

By opting in to Grafana IRM SMS notifications, you agree to receive automated text messages from Grafana Labs relating to phone-number verification, incident alerts, on-call notifications, and related service communications at the mobile number you provide.

- **Message frequency:** Varies depending on your notification settings and incident activity.
- **Charges:** Message and data rates may apply.
- **Opt-out:** To stop receiving SMS notifications, remove SMS steps from your [personal notification rules](https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/observe-and-act/respond-to-incidents/notify-responders/personal-notification-rules).
- **Privacy:** Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Grafana IRM SMS notifications are service-related and are not intended for marketing or promotional communications. Consent to receive SMS notifications is not a condition of purchasing Grafana services.

By providing a phone number, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary authority to provide such number to Grafana Labs, have complied with all applicable laws, and have obtained any required consents for Grafana Labs and its service providers to collect, use, and process the phone number for the purposes described above, in accordance with these Terms and Privacy Policy.

SMS delivery depends on network availability and telecommunications providers. Delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful.
