# View logs for a registered collector

In this milestone, you view internal logs for a registered collector. Fleet Management automatically creates and assigns `self_monitoring_logs_*` configuration pipelines based on the collector’s operating system or platform.

To view logs for a registered collector from the collector details drawer, complete the following steps:

1. If you closed the collector details drawer, open a collector from the **Inventory** tab first.
2. Switch to the **Logs** tab.
3. Use the search box to look for specific log lines or error messages.
4. Use **Explore Logs** to investigate the collector logs in Explore Logs.

Error-level logs can help you diagnose remote configuration failures, cache read or load failures, and cache write failures. Debug-level logs can help you identify when the collector requests, skips, or reloads remote configuration.

After you finish this milestone, you have completed the journey.
